The annual examinations of schools affiliated with the Gujarat board will begin on April 18. School exams will begin soon after those of Classes X and XII are completed.
The board the school exams will begin on April 18 and end on April 28. Board officials said they have made it clear that the syllabus for the final examination will be only chapters taught in the second term, which began after the Diwali vacation.
The board said the exams for main subjects such as mathematics, science, English and Gujarati will have common papers for government and private schools. For the other subjects, schools can set their own papers.
For students in Classes III to V, this will be their first in-person exam and will be conducted in three days beginning April 19.
Exams for mathematics, Gujarati and environmental science will be conducted. The exams for Classes VI to VIII will begin on April 21. Exams will be held for the main subjects such as Gujarati, science, social science, mathematics, Hindi, English and Sanskrit.
