The Ministry of Education on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, released a list of precautions for schools to combat the ill effects of the heatwave.
School timings need to be modified as well as the daily routine. School hours can be reduced and can start as early as 7 am.
"Sports/other outdoor activities which expose students directly to the sunlight may be appropriately adjusted in the early morning," said the ministry.
Further, the recommendation of reduced timing of the school assembly was mentioned.
Also, light food should be consumed. Classrooms should be properly ventilated. Uniforms should also be comfortable.
Guidelines are also released for examination centres to avoid heatstroke.
The ministry of education has released guidelines in other areas as well, including transportation, health, food, classroom, and uniform, among others.
