Delhi University increases UG promotion passing criteria to 63%
New Update

With this change, undergraduate students at all Delhi University (DU) colleges will now need to achieve a combined total of 63 percent in their first and second semesters to be eligible for the promotion.

Students representing Delhi University in sports, extracurricular activities, the National Cadet Corps (NCC), the National Service Scheme (NSS), and other similar areas may be exempted from the criteria, pending approval from their college's competent authority.

A university official stated that this step has been taken to address the shortcomings in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) 2022 at Delhi University.

A member of the committee that formulated the guidelines for the promotion criteria told PTI that under the NEP-UGCF 2022, since not all papers carry the same credits, it is possible for a student to be promoted to the next year by passing just three papers from both semesters and one general elective with only a 36 percent score.
