Cyclone Michaung: Due to the Cyclone Michaung’s effect in most parts of Tamil Nadu, southern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha, several colleges and schools have announced closure and delay of exams.

The Madras University, a public university in Chennai, has postponed the undergraduate, postgraduate and professional degree courses exams scheduled for Monday (December 4) due to the weather forecast of heavy rain in the city.

The Tamil Nadu government has declared leave for schools and colleges in Chennai city and neighboring districts such as Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, and Kancheepuram on December 4.

Schools have also been ordered shut in Puducherry, Karaikal and Yanam regions of the Union Territory, Director of School Education P. Priytarshny said in a circular.

Like Madras University, Anna University, a public university in Chennai, has also postponed distance education programme examinations scheduled on Sunday and Monday.

As of now, the rescheduled exam dates have not been notified, and will soon be updated on the university website as and when the weather conditions get better.
