10,000 devotees in Vadodara pledge to save environment SUB Immerse Ganesha idols inside their homes.

Ganeshotsav starts with great fervour in Vadodara and everyone welcome the lord Ganesha for ten days of hospitality. As enviornment is a major concern during the festival many mandals in the city take initiative towards it and installed environment friendly idols sending a strong message to the society.

As part of the initiative nearly 10,000 people took pledge to install clay idols and immerse them in their homes. 50 Ganesh mandals already installed the clay statues and pledge to immerse in their societies.

People from Vallabhnagar in Karelibaug area prepare 12 foot eco friendly Ganesha from bamboos and 15kgs of news paper waste in 40 days. They installed the statue inside their society and will immerse it there.

Most of the devotees decide to install clay idols and immerse it in view of saving environment and water pollution due to POP statues. About 20 Maharashtrian families living in Dandiya Bazaar and Char Darwaza area accepted to install clay Ganesha idols inside their homes for generations and immerse there.

Sachin Parikh living in Shyamal residency at Waghodia Ajwa road said their mandal install clay Ganesh idol this year and first time immerse it in their society to save environment.

Rohit Ghaghe from Dandiya Bazaar Shankar Tekri installed Ganesha idol for the last seven years and started a initiative towards saving the environment and immerse it inside a small vessel for last three years. Yogesh Shah from Fatehgunj Jayesh colony also installed clay idol inside his home and immerse there to spread the message among people.
