Union Tourism Ministry is recommending to extend the e-visa services to another 36 countries including Italy, Iran , Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Government is making e-visa services available to more and more countries to for the tourism and medical services. Government will also get good benefit of this initiative.
The proposal has been sent to Home Ministry for the approval. If the proposal will be accepted by Home Ministry, people around the world from 186 countries will be able to get an online visa for travelling to India.
Among the countries have been included are: Iran, Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Maldives, Italy, Nigeria, Turkey, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan and Morocco.
The online visa scheme was launched in November 2013 and with its expansion it is getting beneficiary for the Indian government in the different ways.
