Celebrated Rakshabandhan in unique way with patients under treatment

Two incidents at two government hospitals in the city have given a new dimension to the spirit of Raksha Bandhan at a time when the Corona crisis is currently underway.

The first incident is of Dr. Chetna who has accepted to work with Covid patients in the time when the atmosphere of fear in everywhere.

She is a senior physiotherapist at Sayaji Hospital and has been appointed as incharge by Dr. Vinod Rao M, Special Duty Officer and Education Secretary, after ready to work in the Covid ward. Exercise is the key for the patients under treatment as it gives them energy and speed up the recovery. Dr. Chetna extend her wishes in a unique way while giving exercise tips to the patients.

The second case is from GMERS Gotri, where the on duty nurses working inside Covid ward here voluntarily stay away from their families as a precaution to prevent the infection. They are away from their homes and also not celebrate the festival as the duty comes first for them.

Kavita Parikh Thakkar head nurse at the hospital said, “On Rakshabandhan Purnima they were not in a position to tie rakhis on the wrists of their brothers. So they considered the patients under treatment as brothers and celebrate the festival with them. They also wish for their speedy recovery. These sisters give a new dimension by combining the sacred pure love with duty and truly deserve  congratulations”.
