Dr. Rajesh Shah himself is an expert homeopathic doctor.  As Chairman of the Vadodara Municipal Health Committee, he has contributed to the management of the Corona Crisis in the city with the administration.

He also distributed homeopathic herbs as a precaution against the disease and imparted health education to the people.

During and after the lockdown during backing people in the fight against Corona, he himself became a victim of the transition and was cured by carefully receiving the necessary treatment and taking precautions.

He recently donated plasma as Corona Warrior to help in the treatment of Corona patients after recovered from the disease. He donated plasma at Indu Blood Bank. Sharing his experience as plasma donor, he explain the fact that no specific drug or vaccine for corona has yet been discovered. The method is like a ray of hope for the patients.

He states that the treatment requires blood plasma of the recovered patient but like blood donation, many unfounded suspicions are spread in this regard and the deserving disease free people are reluctant to take the initiative.

Expressing the feeling that this hesitation is a thing of the past. He said that patients discharged from the Corona treatment can donate plasma just like blood donation. People aged 18 to 60 and weigh more than 55 kg without having any medical conditions can donate.

He said, the plasma donation procedure is non-invasive and painless. The donor is tested before the process and the plasma is taken only if antibodies are found in his blood. The process of taking plasma is safe and machine based. After the plasma is extracted from the donor’s blood, the blood returns to the body.  Plasma donations do not cause any disability or infection.

He said with the efforts of doctors, medical staff and blessing of God they defeat the Coronavirus and now with plasma donation they can save lives of others who are fighting with the deadly disease.

Currently government along with the cooperation of many organizations, hospitals and people are fighting with Coronavirus. But the basic thing is public awareness for preventing its spread.

That is why people must observe precautions like wearing masks, adhering to social distance. This is a strategy to save yourself and save others.  Similarly ayurvedic and homeopathic medicines increase immunity. So it should be consumed as recommended.

With efforts from Dr. Vinod Rao, Officer on Special Duty and Education Secretary, plasma donation cell are operational at SSG and Gotri hospitals to ensure that a sufficient amount of blood plasma is available for plasma treatment of corona victims. Efforts are also made for the people to donate plasma voluntarily those who are free of corona and eligible to donate plasma.

Explaining the usefulness of plasma donation, Dr. Chirag Rathore, Nodal Officer, Plasma Donation Cell, Gotri Hospital, said,  plasma donation is an alternative treatment for mild to moderate category patients with effects of the virus.

This treatment can be done by voluntarily donating blood plasma from people who have been released from the corona following medical norms.

Giving a preliminary outline of the functioning of the Plasma Donation Cell, he said that a committee of pathologists, doctors of Preventive Social Medicine, Nodal Officer and Counsellor has been formed to determine the functioning of the cell.

The cell creates the list of people who have been released from corona, are between 18 and 60 years of age, weigh more than 55 kg and have not been advised not to donate plasma for any other medical reason. After creating the database the cell will work to prepare them for voluntary plasma donation.

If such people are ready, they will first be tested for the development of the required antibody in their blood, then their coordination for plasma treatment will be planned.
