District LCB caught IMFL worth 2.59 lakhs from a jeep near Ajod

A big haul of foreign liquor heading towards Anand from Vadodara National Highway was caught by the District Local Crime Branch on the Express Highway late at night.

The district local crime branch received information about IMFL being transported in a jeep. Based on that police set up a watch on the Express Highway near Ajod and found liquor worth Rs 2.59 lakh from inside the jeep worth Rs 6.74 lakh.

Giving information, PI of District Local Crime Branch D.B. Wala informed that the district police chief give instructions about taking strict action against ferrying of liquor.

Following the same, P.S.I. M.M. Rathore and his team during patrolling received a information about a Bolero jeep carrying IMFL was heading towards Anand from the National Highway.

Based on this the teams set up a watch on the express highway.

Meanwhile they spot the Jeep and stopped it near the overbridge of Ajod village on the express highway. They checked it and found 54 cartons of IMFL worth Rs 2,59,200.

Along with this the team arrested Ghevarchand Bhagirathram Bisnoi, a native of Rajasthan and currently lives on Ajwa Road in B-5, a resident of Sugam Park Society for ferrying liquor.

When questioned Ghevarchand Bisnoi, who was caught with liquor said, it was filled by Prashant alias Anil Sureshchandra Kumar, a resident of Palina, Rajasthan, as well as Manish Purohit, a native of Palina and currently a resident of Ahmedabad.

Police had lodged a complaint at the taluka police station against Ghevarchand, who was caught with liquor as well as two bootleggers who had sent the consignment. The taluka police have registered a case under the Prohibition Act.
