Give detailed guidance to the concerned officers
District Election Officer and collector Shalini Agarwal gave detailed guidance on various matters including pre-preparations by holding a meeting with the concerned officials following the announcement made by the Election Commission of India to hold by-polls of 147 Karjan Assembly seats today.
She directed all the concerned officers to strictly adhere to the code of conduct in the Karjan assembly constituency and to take all necessary precautions.
She gave instructions about be ready to abide by the guidelines issued by the Election Commission in view of the current Covid situation. She consulted with Deputy District Election Officer RP Joshi, Nodal Officer for Adarsh Code of Implementation and District Rural Development Agency Director BB Chaudhary, Election Officer of this seat and Deputy Collector cum Provincial Officer, Karjan and concerned officers.
It may be mentioned that as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India for holding the election of this constituency, the election process including acceptance of candidature papers will start on October 9 with the formal publication of the declaration of election of this assembly constituency by the Returning Officer and Provincial Officer, Karjan.
The polling date has been declared for November 3 and the counting of votes will be done on November 10.
The District Electoral Officer has requested the political parties and all concerned to cooperate in conducting of fair, neutral and peaceful elections by adhering to the prescribed code of conduct.
