Nearly 25 protestors detained by police

Displaced residents of Sanjaynagar hold demonstration with posters and banners before the arrival of Gujarat Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to Vadodara for review meeting of the Covid-19. Police detained nearly 25 protestors from the spot at New VIP road.

Following the rising cases of corona in Gujarat, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel today is on the visit to Rajkot and Vadodara. After visiting Rajkot they left for Vadodara for the review meeting and steps taken by the administration.

However, before their arrival the slum dwellers of Sanjaynagar, who had been deprived of houses for the last three years and had been agitating for houses, staged a protest near the airport circle.

The slum dwellers of Sanjaynagar, led by social activist Prabhu Solanki, came to protest on the way to Amitnagar Circle from Harni Manek Park crossroads with slogans written on banners and posters.

However, before the Chief Minister’s convoy could arrive, the police tried to persuade the protesting people. But they continued their protest and did not leave the place and police forcibly detained the protestors and took them to the police station. Police detained as many as 25 displaced persons.
