Protesting against the administration for not getting houses after five years of demolition of their residences by the corporation

They displaced residents of Kalyan nagar give bangles on VMSS Deputy Commissioner in view of their demand of getting their houses. They are protesting against the administration for not getting houses after five years of demolition of their residences by the corporation.

In 2014 the corporation demolished the Kalyan Nagar hutments behind Kamatibaug area of Vadodara city. However the displaced are still not getting their houses after five years of demolition. Last Friday they threaten to commit suicide inside the Sursagar in view of their demands.

Displaced Salma Qureshi said after the demolition Corporation allowed them residences and says to give them the houses at the Kalyan Nagar. The houses are ready and they are yet not allotted to them. They also went to Sursagar for suicide and that time the administration assured them to give houses but nothing happens till date.

On Tuesday they reached the corporation office and approached Deputy Commissioner Dhaval Pandya and gives bangles to him after not getting any satisfactory answer to their pleas. One of the woman tried to choke herself with the dupatta but was stopped by in duty police and send her to the hospital in a ambulance.
