Department of Mines and Minerals exposed scam of soil theft in Khandha village of Karjan

The Department of Mines and Minerals has exposed the scam of soil theft in Khandha village of Karjan taluka of Vadodara district.

The Department of Mines and Minerals received a information about a scam of soil theft was going on in Khandha village. Based on that a team from the Department of Mines and Minerals struck late at night and raided the site. The raid shocked the thieves and make them fled from the spot left behind the equipments. The tools were seized by the department and further investigation in the matter.

Geologist Nirav Barot said, the soil was being excavated and transported to Khandha village in Karjan taluka. A team from the Mines and Minerals Department raided the place after receiving information and found the illegal excavation and transportation of plain clay. Meanwhile, the team seized a Hitachi machine used for excavation and two vehicles used for transporting soil from the site and   prevented the theft of clay. Legal action has been taken against the thieves.

Notably, the Vadodara Mines and Minerals Department has raided 3 places in the last two weeks and stopped illegal mining and transportation of sand and clay minerals. They seized vehicles and legal action was taken against the culprits. Strict action by the Department of Mines and Minerals spread panic among the elements who are stealing sand and clay.

Notably, despite the crackdown on sand and clay mafias by the Department of Mines and Minerals, a large-scale network of sand and clay theft is being run by the thieves.
