Cycle expedition for coastal security awareness Navy week 2019

As part of Navy Week – 2019, a cycle expedition was undertaken from INS Dwarka, Okha to Khukri War Memorial at Diu from 03 Dec to 06 Dec 19 covering a total distance of 394 Kms. A total of ten personnel from Gujarat Naval Area participated in the event.

The event was conducted under the aegis of HQGD&D and was aimed towards spreading awareness amongst the local population about the importance of coastal security and the role that common citizens can play towards the same.

The cycle expedition was also aimed at celebrating the historic win of 1971 war and spreading the awareness of the immense contribution made by the Officers and men of INS Khukri, who sacrificed their present for the nation’s future in keeping with the highest traditions of the Indian Navy.

The team also witnessed a traffic accident enroute and immediately rendered first aid assistance to the accident victim before medical help arrived.
