Criminal arrested in Ghaziabad

A notorious criminal was arrested here on Thursday after a gun battle with police which damaged the car of a senior police officer.

Unus alias Kale was caught after a 15-minute “encounter” at Karhera leading to Raj Nagar Extension.

A police team led by Superintendent Salman Taj Patil flagged Kale to stop when he was in a car with an accomplice.

But Kale opened fire at the police while trying to escape. He was nabbed some 15 minutes later.

Two bullets hit Taj Patil’s car. The criminal also sustained two bullet wounds in his legs. His accomplice escaped.

Taj Patil told IANS that Kale was “a wanted criminal and was a terror” in the area. He was wanted for multiple murders and carried a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head.
