Amid Corona pandemic this year Ganesh idols made from cow dung will bless the devotees of good health and save everyone from deadly virus.

Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India, Vocal to Local slogan, entrepreneur Mukesh Gupta from Vadodara has made idols made from cow dung and sold it as per orders.

Coronavirus is taking it’s toll on everyone and even the big festivals like Rathayatra, Janmashtami and Ganeshotsav are affected as government cancelled all the celebrations and ask everyone to follow the guidelines. In between such challenging situations people stick to low key celebrations and avoid any gathering which invite the transmission of the virus.

Ganeshotsav is one such festival which is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Vadodara every year. But the Corona pandemic put brakes on the festival and people now opt for eco friendly and safe celebrations.

With the similar message Mukesh Gupta prepared Ganesha idols made from cow dungs which are in great demand. The initiative started in the time of pandemic and will go a long way even after it get over.

“The message is loud and clear of clean environment as the idols made from cow dung are totally safe and can be immersed inside a water vessel and then it can be used as natural urea for the plants. This year we start it as an initiative to help people become Atmanirbhar and go totally desi. The orders are also beyond expectation and we are trying to complete it as per our strength,” said Gupta.

He further said that the farmers now have an extra income and know the value of cow dungs. They also engage women in making the idols which is a step towards women empowerment. This year they prepare around 200 idols with the help from 50 women from Rajasthan and Abu. The idols are 100% pure and the colours are also prepared from fruits which makes it totally natural from the start to finish.

This year the orders are from Rajasthan and Maharashtra and due to monsoon they not fulfill all of them.

Mukesh Gupta said, the cost of these idols are half of clay idols and one can easily afford them. They also register themselves as MSME and after other process will be selling the idols at online platforms soon.
