The transition to the villages has increased in the second wave of Corona as we saw widespread impact in rural areas. Effective health facilities are being provided by the district health system to prevent the transmission of corona in the villages of Vadodara district. In one such step a 100-bed covid care center has been started in Mota Fofliya village in Shinor taluka of Vadodara district in collaboration with Shaktikrupa Charitable Trust, District Health Society and district administration.

The care center provides free medicine, tea, snacks and meals to the patients and also proper care provided by the doctors.

Ashok Patel, Director, Shaktikrupa Charitable Trust, said that a 100 bed Covid Isolation Center has been started in the hostel building of the school of the trust in collaboration with the District Administration, Primary Health Center Shinor. Its capacity can be increased up to 200 beds. Patients In the villages of Shinor taluka who do not have isolation facility at home are admitted in the centre.

He added that patients had to rely on 108 emergency services to be referred elsewhere, which caused delays in transporting patients to other hospitals. Talking to their US based donor Kiran Patel about this problem, he immediately donated an ambulance van at a cost of Rs 8 lakh for the patients.

He said that medicine, accommodation and meals have been provided to the patients admitted in the center. The center is getting services from two doctors, paramedical staff from Shinor Primary Health Center.

Nodal Officer Dr. Jignesh Vasava said that so far 294 patients have been admitted in this care center. Currently 85 patients are undergoing treatment for corona, while 185 patients have recovered and reached home safely. 34 patients have been referred to other hospitals for further treatment. He added that patients with mild and asymptomatic symptoms of corona are admitted to the care center. There is ample supply of medicine.

Kailash Vasava, a doctor at the Ayurvedic hospital, says that the patients admitted to the Covid Care Center are provided with Ayurvedic liquid, medicines as well as live liquid drinks in the surrounding villages.

Moto Fofaliya village has provided a persuasive example of how excellent results can be achieved by working together with the government and charitable organizations.
