With 36 thousand 6 hundred 52 new COVID-19 infections, India’s total cases reached 96 lakh 8 thousand 2 hundred 11. The Health Ministry said 5 hundred 12 people lost their lives in the last 24 hours and the death toll has gone up to 1 lakh 39 thousand 700. Total active cases are now at 4 lakh 9 thousand 6 hundred 89.
Total discharged cases reached 90 lakh 58 thousand 8 hundred 22. In the last 24 hours, 42 thousand 5 hundred 33 people were discharged. The recovery rate has reached 94.20 per cent.
The Health Ministry today said that demonstrating a landmark achievement, India’s active cases have fallen below 4.2 lakh. In a tweet this morning, the Ministry said, the recovered cases have crossed 90 lakh.
It said, the calibrated and effective strategy of the Centre focused on high levels of testing combined with early identification, timely tracing, isolation and hospitalisation for the severe cases have resulted in a manageable number of active cases and continuously rising number of recoveries.
