COVID-19 recovery rate improves to 51.07%

The Central government today said that the recovery rate of COVID-19 has reached 51.07 per cent in the country and a total of one lakh 69 thousand 798 people have been cured in the country. During the last 24 hours, seven thousand 419 people have recovered. Total active corona cases in the country is one lakh 53 thousand 106.

The Health and Family Welfare Ministry said that 11 thousand 502 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to three lakh 32 thousand 424 in the country. During the last 24 hours, 325 deaths have been recorded, taking the nationwide toll to nine thousand 520. The case fatality rate is 2.86 per cent in the country.

Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR said that a total of one lakh 15 thousand 519 tests of coronavirus were conducted by various laboratories in the country during the last 24 hours. So far, 57 lakh 74 thousand 133 tests have been conducted.

ICMR is continuously scaling up its testing facilities for Covid-19 by giving approval to government and private laboratories. As of now, a total of 901 laboratories across India have been given approval to conduct tests for Covid-19 including 633 government laboratories and 248 private laboratory chains.
