Over 22 crore COVID vaccine doses administered in country so far
The country is witnessing a significant sustained decline in active caseloads and new COVID-19 cases. The Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 20th consecutive day. The recovery rate has further improved to 92.48 per cent.
The Health and Family Welfare Ministry has said, the active caseloads presently comprise 6.33 per cent of the cumulative positive cases and it is continuously declining. The weekly and daily positivity rate is also declining.
India has crossed a major landmark with more than 22 crore cumulative COVID vaccine doses administered so far in the country. Union Health Ministry said that more than 22 lakh 45 thousand beneficiaries were inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine doses till 7 P.M. yesterday. Out of these, more than 20 lakh 28 thousand beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and more than two lakh 16 thousand beneficiaries received 2nd dose of the vaccine.
The Ministry said, more than 11 lakh 37 thousand beneficiaries from the age group of 18 to 44 years received their first dose of COVID vaccine and and more than 19 thousand beneficiaries of the same age group received their second dose of COVID vaccine.
Cumulatively, over two crore 25 lakh persons across 37 States and Union Territories have received vaccine dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive. Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have administered more than ten lakh beneficiaries from the age group of 18 to 44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine. The Liberalised and Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of COVID-19 vaccination has come into force from 1st of May.
