Corporation school teacher Geeta Chauhan selected as best teacher from Vadodara
Defeated Cancer two times but never stops teaching
After parents, teachers are the real path bearers of children as they teach them the positive and negative things in life and helps them reach their goals. Their contribution to a child’s development is unmeasured but still on every year we celebrate Teachers Day to honour them.
We often came through such stories which make us believe the how teachers teach their students the lessons of life even fighting within. Here is the story of a teacher Geeta Chauhan who defeat cancer two times in life and following her aim to educate children. She teaches in corporation run Pujya Vallabhacharya Primary school no.22 in Kishenwadi.
Residing in Dena park society at Ajwa road Geeta Chauhan served as teacher in corporation run school for the last 30 years. She is selected as best teacher from the four entries in Vadodara.
“I saw many up and downs in my life and gives credit to my students to believe in me. In 2010 and 2013 faced cancer but never thought of left teaching and always think about my students. During treatment I went to school and forget my agony in between my students and I must say I defeat cancer with the help of education therapy,” said an emotional Chauhan.
She also said that education depends on how the teachers teach their students not the schools they studies in. Her students became top officers and they all studied from government schools.
On being chosen as best teacher she gives credit to her school principal Janki Jaiswal, teachers Sanjay Patel, Trilokbhai Mehta and others. The selection is based on her teaching process, system of education, performance of her students during inspection and other parameters.
On Tuesday she was felicitated by her fellow teachers and staff after chosen as best teacher from the city. It was an emotional moment for her as she fails to hide her tears and all the school staff extends their wishes to her. They said such was her dedication towards her students that in morning she took Chemotherapy and second day went to school for teaching.
She feels happy after being chosen as best teacher from the city and said now her responsibility doubles and she will continue her work afterwards. Her husband is a businessman and has two sons with elder one as doctor and younger is a Chartered Accountant.
