Launched to
provide accurate information and guidance on corona to people under quarantine
A helpline
centre is started in Vadodara to help the people at indoor home and quarantine to get rid of their fear and
stress related to Coronavirus. 95 people took the help on the very first day to
relieve from the mental trauma and ask their queries to specialists available
online.
Under the
guidance of district Collector Shalini Agrawal the innovative idea of starting
the helpline is helping to get over from the stress during the lockdown period
in Vadodara. The centre starts on 8th floor of Kuber Bhavan where people can
call on number 0265-2421001 from morning 11 to 5pm in the evening to ask their
queries with specialist psychologists and get rid of their mental stress and
fear.
Elaborating
on this, senior Geologist Neeraj Barot said a nationwide lockdown has been
announced to prevent the transmission of the Corona virus. The center has been launched to provide
accurate information and guidance on corona to people under quarantine and not
to spread false fear among the people.
He said on the first day, 95 people, including 36 indoor quarantines, 19 discharged from home quarantine and 40 home quarantines were helped by doctors and psychologists from the helpline center.
Doctors
said, there is no need to be afraid or intimidated and give guidance on the
problems of the disease. They also ask them about the importance to follow the
instructions of the government and the health department to maintain social
distance in relation to the disease.
Barot said
that there are nine private and government doctors offering their services at
the center. Quarantine individuals are being informed about the precautions and
precautionary measures on phone by the doctors.
In context
of the global pandemic of the current prevalent Corona virus, state government
has launched a 24 hour helpline to address the problems of individuals related
to physical and mental health. This include tele-medicine, tele-advice and
tele-counseling by doctors.
