Celebrations is Vadodara city a low key affair this year
The Valmiki community of the city celebrates the Chadhi Mahotsav every year. However this year the Coronavirus scare put brakes on the celebration and the community decides to keep it low key.
The Valmiki community of the city celebrates the Chhadhi Mahotsav every year from Rakshabandhan Day to Navami. Sunil Solanki, former mayor and president of Vadodara Valmiki Yuva Manch, said, that every year a public program of Chhadhi Mahotsav of Veer Gogaji Maharaj, a disciple of Guru Gorakhnath, is held with great fervor in the city.
Around 35 such Chhadis are installed at different areas of the city on Rakshabandhan. But this year due to the Corona pandemic, the sticks that were collected every year at Surasagar with great enthusiasm are not collected and following the guidelines of Corona. It is to be noted here that the pooja is being performed at the place of the stick without accepting the invitation from other areas
