Under the first randomization allotment done in presence of District Election Officer

By-elections of 147 Karjan Assembly seat have been carried out by the District Electoral System in accordance with the instructions of the Election Commission of India and under the guidance of the District Election Officer. Every precaution is being taken to hold neutral, transparent and fair elections.

As part of this, under the supervision of District Election Officer Shalini Agarwal, polling machines were allotted by the department in a precise proportion to the number of polling booths through a fully transparent computerized process. Later a numbered list of allotted voting machines was compiled by the team. Returning Officer and the Provincial Officer of Karjan, K.R. Patel, representatives of various political parties and the Deputy District Election Officer were present in the meeting.

KR. Patel informed that a total of 311 polling stations have been allotted for Karjan constituency following the guideline. As per the Commission's instruction to allot 140 per cent of the total polling booths, 436 ballot units and counting units have been allocated for the polling stations. 467 VVPAT's have been allotted transparently under today's process following 150 per cent instruction in the case of VVPAT generating a receipt indicating when the voter has voted.

These voting machines will be taken to Karjan with necessary security precautions and will be kept under tight security as per the instructions of the commission at the Strong Room constructed at Taluka Seva Sadan.
