A G.A.S. officer in Civil Defence died under mysterious circumstances in his quarters at Vadodara. Office employees said that he was not coming to office for the last many days and under mental stress.
Police send the body for postmortem to find out the exact cause of death of the officer who met the mysterious death.
Living in D block at Alkapuri Officers Colony and working as G.A.S. in Civil Defence Sureshbhai Ganajibhai Gamit (age 57) was found dead in his room.
Vicky Mahajan his driver went to pick him up on Friday evening and opens the door of the house only to find Sureshbhai lied motionless on his bed. He immediately informed his another colleague Sudhakar Suryavanshi about the situation.
Vicky Mahajan called 108 ambulance after informed the instructions of top officials and rushed him to SSG where the on duty doctors declared him dead. Employees from various offices of the Civil Defence rushed to the hospital after get the message. The incident was later reported to Sayajiganj police who rushed to the spot and conducted postmortem proceedings.
Arriving at the cold room of Sayaji Hospital today, Civil Defence employee Sudhakarbhai Suryavanshi said, officer Sureshbhai Gamit carries a clean talent and was on leave for the last 15 days.
Two days ago he went to his house for taking his signatures on some papers. He cried in front of him and told that he is fed up with mental anguish. He don’t know about the cause of death but one thing he is sure that Sureshbhai is living in constant mental stress. He feel like the mental stress has taken its toll on him.
Another woman employee, Induben said, that officer Sureshbhai Gamit was a clean officer of civil defenc and a good officer for the employees. However, some of the employees always near to him make him make him drunkard. She feel that his liver might get damaged due to excessive drinking and that lead to his death.
She put allegations about alcohol and non-vegetarian meals were frequently served at the Civil Defence office and female employees were afraid to go to the office. She demand from the police to bring out the exact cause of death of officer Sureshbhai Gamit.
Sureshbhai Gamit’s mysterious death has caused a stir in the civil defence. Sayajiganj police has registered a case of accidental death and is conducting an investigation into the incident.
