Vadodara Host 480 B2B Meetings between MSMEs and Large Companies

To give an opportunity to local MSMEs to interact with large companies setting up plants in Gujarat, CII Vadodara organized “Vendor Development Program for MSMEs” on Friday. Around 480 B2B meetings were held during the meet creating bright opportunities for the small scale industries.

Industry slowdown is seen nationally, while Gujarat industries are on expansion mode and Gujarat is the one of the most industrialized state in the country. Vadodara being the hub of manufacturing units in the state is rapidly growing in terms of industrial infrastructure and investment.

Large companies are setting up plants in Gujarat and the present companies are on expansion mode creating a need of new vendors. The CII’s Vendor Development Program is one such platform to create opportunities for the small scale industries to link with the big ones.

This initiative was to link large industries and with local MSME’s of Gujarat which resulted in mutual benefits and long term relationship. It was a great platform for Manufacturing Units to connect and explore new vendors in Gujarat for their expansion plans or even entire set ups.

Procurement Heads from leading manufacturing units of Gujarat like Aditya Birla Insulators, Apollo Tyres Ltd., Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. – Gujarat Refinery, KYB – Conmat Pvt. Ltd., MRF Ltd., Schott Glass India Pvt. Ltd., TBEA Energy (India) Pvt. Ltd. were the registered buyers at this Meet.

Detailed presentations on the procurement needswere given to the registered Sellers at this meet. Post presentation every MSME got an opportunity to meet one to one the large companies for 10 minutes each.

Hemal Patel, Convener, CII Central Gujarat MSME Core – Committee updated that “Over 480 one to one B2B meetings were conducted and105 Crore Business Enquiry was generated within this single day”.

Bhavik Khera, Vice – Chairman, CII Central Gujarat further added that “Overall 120 industries participated in today’s program out of which 85 were MSMEs. Industry slowdown is seen nationally, while Gujarat industries are on expansion mode. This is because of the strong foundation the companies have created in last 2 decades”.
