Reviewed the progress of various infrastructural projects and training facilities of the establishment

Admiral Karambir Singh PVSM AVSM ADC, Chief of the Naval Staff
visited INS Valsura, Jamnagar, the premier Electrical Training
Establishment of the Indian Navy. During his visit, he reviewed the progress of
various infrastructural projects and training facilities of the establishment.
The CNS appreciated the augmented training facilities established at Valsura in
the field of Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology.

In recognition with the emerging trends in Machine Learning, a new
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics (BDA) Lab was commissioned
at the unit in the presence of the CNS.  This AI & BDA Lab has been
set up with high performance hardware and software and will be utilised for
training of naval personnel in this futuristic technology. In addition to
training and development capability, the lab will also act as a Centre of
Excellence (CoE) to promote the Navy’s fundamental research and development
efforts in AI and BDA.

In addition, a 2 MW Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Plant, executed under the
aegis of Ministry of Defence, was commissioned in the presence of the CNS. This
SPV plant is in consonance with the Indian Navy’s commitment towards reducing
carbon footprint and adoption of clean and green energy. The CNS also interacted
with all personnel of ‘Valsura Parivar’ and complimented them for their role in
training and nation building.
