Chhatra Sansad appeal recovered citizens of Vadodara to donate plasma to save lives
New Update

The fight with corona is still on and one of the many challenges posed during this pandemic is the urgent need for plasma donors. Plasma is being used as an amulet to rescue people in their fight against Corona pandemic. However the shortage of donors make it difficult to treat patients and many of them lost their lives.

Chhatra Sansad in Vadodara is into this noble drive since last year and save many lives. Plasma Donate Karona organized by CS started in August 2020, during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The drive was first initiated in Vadodara and spread to other cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Bhavnagar and Bangalore.

"We convince recovered COVID-19 patients to donate their plasma which is rich in antibodies required to fight off the virus. The recovered patients' immune systems created these antibodies to fight off the virus. These antibodies are present in the plasma, and when this is injected into a patient, the antibodies present in them help fight off the virus. Till date, we convinced more than 3200 people to donate their plasma, thereby saving countless lives," said Kunal Sharma founder Chhatra Sansad.

As the second wave rises the Chhatra Sansad team are once again appealing to all citizens who have recovered from COVID-19 to donate their plasma to help alleviate the suffering of their fellow citizens.

During each donation, 500ml of Plasma is taken from the donor after a thorough Blood Test to check for above mentioned criteria. A Plasma donor is eligible to donate after a gap of 14 days even though the plasma taken will be replaced in your body within 2 days. There are no side effects of donating plasma and the entire procedure is carried out by a state-of-the-art machine using a single use disposable kit for every new donor.

"Chhatra Sansad appeal to the citizens of Vadodara to come forward and donate their Plasma if they satisfy the above mentioned criteria. We are seeing a loss of life at a magnitude not seen before and as responsible citizens, it falls upon us to do our part to help anyone who needs help. It is upon us to act responsibly and take this second wave seriously," added Kunal.

Below listed are the criteria to become an eligible Plasma Donor.
