Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani distributed assistance cheques worth Rs. 2.28 crore to 800 beneficiaries in a cheque distribution ceremony organized by Gujarat Vicharti Ane Vimukt Jati Vikas Nigam here in Gandhinagar.
During the programme, CM Rupani clearly said that the deprived and remotest communities came to the streamline of development as a result of multiple schemes introduced by the state government for the upliftment of deprived, exploited and distressed persons. They got an opportunity to live respectfully with self-employment and independence through financial improvement as well, he added.
CM Rupani said that the state government has determined provision worth Rs. 1119 crore in current year budget under Antyoday Yojana for grain distribution, housing construction and assistance for plot and houses for the families of poor, deprived, last-men, nomadic and denotified tribes. State government is providing assistance upto Rs. 4 lakh to provide their own house to each families and poor families of the state, he added.
CM Rupani said that it is their aim of social harmony to develop art-skills in nomadic community to put them in the global platform as well. More than 60 nomadic communities are there in the state and we encourage their children by providing Rs. 750 scholarship per annum.
He also elaborated about construction of 200 estates for nomadic and denotified tribes. He said they have adopted mantra like where there is human, there is facility, and hence shown the service of sensitive government. He said the government has also provided assistance up to Rs. 1.50 lakh for Antyodaya families under Ma Vatsyalam Card. Also Government has made available subsidized Jan-Aushadi store for generic medicines.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Atmarambhai Parmar briefed people about various state and union government schemes and expressed his commitment regarding upliftment of such deprived persons.
