Dawn of a New Chapter of Life for 185 Graduating Students
CHARUSAT celebrated the 10th Convocation ceremony on 20th March, 2021. Padmashri Dr Tejas M Patel, Chairman and Chief Interventional Cardiologist at Apex Heart Institute, Ahmedabad, was the Chief Guest and delivered the convocation address.
In the light of the global pandemic and thorough adherence to the social distancing rules, CHARUSAT conferred the degrees to 185 graduating students. Amongst the presence of esteemed dignitaries 28 students of Ashok and Rita Patel Institute of Physiotherapy (ARIP), 55 students of Manikaka Topawala Institute of Nursing (MTIN), 102 students of Bapubhai Desaibhai Institute of Paramedical Sciences (BDPIPS) were conferred degrees and blessed for a bright future.
In a grand convocation ceremony held at the campus a total of 185 degree holders, including 7 gold medalists, were conferred degrees. The whole convocation ceremony was organised, integrating the events befitting to the Indian culture and tradition.
The programme began withan invocation and the university song. Dr Devang Joshi, Registrar, CHARUSAT, delivered the welcome address and introduced the guests. Dr. Balaganapathy, Dean, FMS, presented the report of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, sharing the achievement and future goals.
The Registrar led the oath-taking ceremony where all the students pledged to excel professionally and serve the society. The Ph.D. scholars, the gold medalists and the graduating students from various disciplines were conferred degrees and awarded medals by the Chief Guest and the dignitaries.
The students and the audience were enthralled by the rousing speech of the Chief Guest, Dr. Tejas Patel. “Work hard – there is no short-cut to success”, said Dr. Tejas Patel to the graduating students. He advised the students to be honest to oneself and one’s profession. Addressing the degree holders, he said, “learn to deal with failures, as failures are the stepping stones to success” citing the life incident of thegreat scientist Thomas Edison. He ended his convocation address by wishing a bright future to all the graduating students.
Addressing the degree holders, Surendrabhai Patel, in his presidential address congratulated the graduating students and urged them to inculcate the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and dedicate themselves to the selfless service of the society as medical professionals.
The Convocation concluded with the vote of thanks by Registrar, Dr. Devang Joshi. It is noteworthy here that all the Medals are real Gold Medals conferred with certificates. Students and their parents are all provided with hospitality and special attention.
Earlier this year, the 10th convocation ceremony of the Faculty of Technology and Engineering, Faculty of Management Studies, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Computer Applications was held on 9th January 2021, wherein Harish Mehta, Founder and Executive Chairman of Onward Technologies Ltd and First elected Chairman of NASSCOM had graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The event was graced by other dignitaries from the academic world, industries, and the government apart from Surendrabhai Patel, President, CHARUSAT, Dr. Pankaj Joshi, Provost, Dr. Devang Joshi, Registrar, Members of the Governing Body, Board of Management, invited dignitaries, Deans of various Faculties, parents and students.
