Students were briefed about Studying Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in the USA

The Higher Studies Help Desk run by Career Development and Placement Cell at CHARUSAT University often arranges events related to career opportunities and employability.

Continuing with its endeavours, it organized an exclusive webinar Studying STEM in the USA for its students in association with EducationUSA, Ahmedabad, the official US Government Network Representatives. EducationUSA is the Official U.S. Govt. network helping international students study in the USA. It provides valuable and detailed guidance to all students willing to pursue higher education in the USA.

During the webinar, the official representatives of EducationUSA addressed the anxiety among students related to changing US policies. Amidst the growing uncertainty due to COVID-19 pandemic and universities all over the world moving to online semesters, Indian students are apprehensive about applying and pursing their higher studies abroad. The speakers diligently addressed all the queries raised by the students during the Q&A session.

The speakers informed students that they should not be worried by the current crisis and stay on track for their admission for spring 2021. With a view to students’ queries regarding online admission in foreign universities and online semester, Riddhi Mehta, Representative, Ferris University said that students should see this as an opportunity to save money and later pursue in-class semester next year when possible.

Vishvesh Shah who is an alumnus of CHARUSAT University highlighted that the courses taught at the CHARUSAT University, prepare students enough for education abroad and advised that the higher education aspirants should now start concentrating on fortifying their profile with good scores in GRE and TOEFL exams and with well-crafted SOPs and LORs.

“At CHARUSAT, we aims to create an eco-system to inspire and facilitate students for research & innovation through higher education”, said by Dr. Pankaj Joshi, Provost, CHARUSAT.

“Higher Studies Help Desk at CHARUSAT acts as a catalyst in identifying, motivating and nurturing students aspiring for higher education abroad and mentoring them towards fulfilling that dream”, stated by Dr. Devang Joshi, Registrar, CHRUSAT.

Total 175 students from various disciplines at CHARUSAT University including Engineering, Physiotherapy, Sciences, etc., participated and raised doubts about pursing online semester or postponing admissions, changing destination from USA to Canada or Australia.

The Higher Studies Help Desk has now been functional at the CHARUSAT University for the past six months and guiding students with letter of recommendation, statement of purpose, document preparation, qualifying tests, etc.

Thus students are making informed decisions with respect to pursing higher studies in foreign countries be it USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, France rather than getting caught up in the tricks of agents. So far 50+ students have benefited from the services provided by the Higher Studies Help Desk at CHARUSAT.
