CHARUSAT University adopts GST Formula to fight Covid-19

Thermal Screening Gun, Sanitization & Tunnel (GST) to shield CHARUSAT campus against Corona Virus

Covid-19 pandemic has brought major transformation across the world as people are adopting a new lifestyle and moving towards new way of working. Each sector is getting equipped to shield itself against the virus and take precautions from the start.

CHARUSAT University at Changa is also ready with its GST strategy to safeguard itself against Covid-19. As per the strategy, any person entering the campus will have to go through three round checking where Thermal Screening Gun, Sanitizer and Tunnel (GST) will shield them.

Lockdown has inspired the university to take many novel initiatives. The locked classroom didn’t deter the learning and students are having online classes. To educate them in the best way, even faculties are sharpening their skills through various online courses offered by best universities across the world. After some relaxation offered by the government, CHARUSAT resumed its administrative work that led to the formation of the GST strategy.

Shedding more light on GST strategy, Dr. Pankaj Joshi, Provost, CHARUSAT and Dr. Devang Joshi, Registrar, CHARUSAT said that from now on any person entering the CHARUSAT campus will be checked with thermal scanner gun for temperature after which he/she will be given hand sanitizer to sanitize the hands followed by Sanitizer Tunnel. Thus, all the visitors will have to go through a three-way disinfection process. The campus is also being sanitized at regular intervals.

Dr. Darshan Patel, Principal, Charotar Institute of Paramedical Sciences, CHARUSAT said that GST is prepared in a scientific manner. The effectiveness of the disinfectant solution spray inside the tunnel has been studied deeply. It has been revealed that excessive use of hypochloride for protection against coronavirus is harmful.

Thus after, deep research, the university has achieved 93% effectiveness of the same with 0.3 concentration. It was known that once the person enters the tunnel, 93% of the bacteria on his body are killed. When you enter the tunnel, try to hold your breath. As per the study findings, the length of the tunnel is also prepared in a way that it will take a person less than 40 seconds to cross the tunnel. Excessive use of tunnel and sanitizer can lead to skin, eyes and respiratory conditions. Thus the entire strategy has been devised after a thorough study on protection against COVID – 19 and other side effects.
