1995 Students to be Awarded Degrees including 34 Gold Medals

Charotar University of Science and Technology, ranked among the top three private universities of Gujarat by National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) is going to host its eighth convocation ceremony on 12th January 2019. Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri Dr R. Chidambaram who previously served as Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai and later Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission of the Government of India will be the chief guest and deliver the convocation address.

Dr R. Chidambaram played an integral role in India’s nuclear weapons program and also served as the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Federal Government of India. Surendrabhai Patel, President, CHARUSAT University will also preside over the convocation ceremony.

Convocation ceremonies at CHARUSAT have been graced by renowned scientist and former President of India – Dr. Abdul Kalam, National Professor and President, Global Research Alliance National Chemical Laboratory – Dr. R A Mashelkar, eminent Industrialist – Pankaj Patel, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan – Dr. T. Ramasami, Former Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Governor of Gujarat O. P. Kohli; Dr M I Patel, a renowned technocrat, entrepreneur and former sheriff of Mumbai and A S Kiran Kumar, Chairman, ISRO.

Following its unique tradition, the convocation starts with a grand procession fragranced with the chanting of Vedic Mantras befitting Indian Culture and Tradition.

The ceremony will be honouring graduates across all academic programs.

In total 1995 students of various disciplines including 34 gold medal holders are going to be awarded degrees in a grand convocation function in the CHARUSAT University premises. 219 students of Faculty of Medical Sciences, 270 students of Faculty of Computer Sciences, 184 students of Faculty of Management Studies, 75 students of Faculty of Pharmacy, 200 students of Faculty of Applied Sciences and 1047 students of six different branches of Faculty of Technology and Engineering which also includes around 30 Ph.D. graduates will be conferred degrees and blessed for a bright future. It is to be noted here that whereas it is a trend to award gold-plated medals elsewhere, at CHARUSAT all the Medals are real Gold Medals conferred with certificates. Students and their Parents are all provided with hospitality and special attention.
