Management Students of Indukaka Ipcowala Institute of Management learn Leadership, Confidence, and Responsibility through Summer Internship Programme (SIP) and Organizational Attachment Programme (OAP) in renowned companies like AMUL, ONGC, Nerolac Paints, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Ultratech Cement, L & T, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, GCMMF, Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Taj Harimahal Hotel, Ambuja Cement, Birla Copper, Reliance Industries, Astral Polytechnic Ltd, Motilala Oswal, Bayer Corpscience Ltd, ICICI, AXIS Bank, Piramal Glass and many more.

Indukaka Ipcowala Institute of Management (I2IM), a constituent institute of Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) has been striving hard to reach out to the Industries to give maximum benefits to its management students. They are taking the initiatives like Industry Academia Meet, MoUs with leading Industries, Manas Management Seminar Series, Endowment Chair Lecture Series, Summer Internship Programme (SIP) for MBA/PGDM students, Organizational Attachment Programme (OAP) for BBA students, Faculty Industrial Exposure Training Programme to name a few.

Prominent amongst them are Summer Internship Programme (SIP) and Organizational Attachment Programme (OAP), mainly held during the months of May-June-July.

6-8 weeks SIP and OAP at I2IM are vital parts of the 2-year MBA / PGDM and 3-year BBA Programme. They are considered to be the first hands on practical gaining experience of any professional management programme that aim to expose the students to professional roles and provide an example of the behaviors expected in the workplace.

In 2019, 120 students of MBA / PGDM programme 2018-20 and the 70 students of BBA programme 2017-20 undertake Summer Internship Project (SIP) in total 99 and 57 organizations. Students undertaking their training in Banking, IT, Dairy, Hospital, Securities, FMCG, Consumer Durables, Ceramics, Power, Pharmaceuticals, Engineering, and Insurance, Banking and Finance, Hospital, Textiles, FMCG, Automobiles, Rubber and Plastic, Ceramics, Power, Pharmaceuticals, Engineering, and Insurance sectors to name a few.

“The programmes aim at strengthening students’ professional skills like leadership, confidence, accountability, networking, adaptability and also giving them a detailed outlook of the current traits and challenges in the modern industrial scenario. The selection process for SIP and OAP is highly systematic and step by step. In the second semester, students are sensitised towards the SIP and OAP with the aims and objectives, then they are guided to select any 1 company out of the list of companies, later they prepare their resume/CV and apply to the company and appear for the Interview and finally get placed for the SIP and OAP", stated by Dr. Govind Dave, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Principal, I2IM.
