7th Sardar Patel Memorial Lecture has been organised to commemorate 143rd Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Rastriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on Wednesday, 31st October 2018 by Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT), Changa. The lecture Series was started in year 2012.

This year, Dr. Hasmukh Patel , Additional Director General of Police & Managing Director Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation, Gandhinagar, was invited to deliver the lecture. In his lecture he presented his thoughts on the subject ‘Sardar Patel – A Versatile Personality

During his lecture Dr. Patel shared some arcane incidents from the life of Sardar Patel. Vital incidents from Sardar’s life depicting his virtues of sacrifice and fearlessness, his contribution in political integration of India, his vision of Unified India were discussed by Dr. Patel. “Sardar Patel, ‘a skilled administrator’, ‘an adorable leader’ and ‘a man of action’ played an exceptional role in actualizing Gandhiji’s visions”, said Dr. Patel in his address. He also presented the lesser known aspects of Sardar like his sense of beauty and aesthetic.

He concluded the session by saying that the youth today need to read and learn a lot from Sardar Patel. Dr. Patel exclaimed, “Youth of today need to keep in mind, the core emotion of unity in diversity of Sardar. Apart from it, shrewdness, determination, administrative capacity, and the ability to take definite decisions at all important occasions are some characteristics which youth can learn from Sardar Patel”. “We need to revisit values and ethics of Sardar Patel”, said Dr. Patel in his concluding remarks.

Dr. Devang Joshi, Registrar introduced the scholar guest welcomed all audiences to the 7th Sardar Patel Memorial Lecture. At the end, Dr. Kamal Chakravartty, Head, HRDC , proposed the vote of thanks.

Provost, Dr. Pankaj Joshi, Registrar, Advisors, Deans, Principals, Faculty Members and Students in large number were present in the lecture. It proved to be an informative and inspiring lecture for all the attendees.
