CHARUSAT celebrated the 7th Convocation eventon 8thJanuary 2018 on Monday having A S Kiran Kumar, Chairman ISRO graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the convocation address.

In his speech to the Degree recipients he said, “Look not only for material and physical development but also for spiritual advancement.” He also added, “Values and Responsibility are essential, without it acquired knowledge and skills can be misused”. Addressing the proud degree holders he advised them to come out with solutions for global issues and promote sustainable living with new inventions in science and technology.

In a grand event held at the campus under the Presidentship of Surendrabhai Patel, in total 1941 degree holders including 35 gold medallists were conferred degrees. The function commenced with the grand Convocation procession, fragranced with the chanting of Vedic mantras befitting Indian culture and tradition.

The convocation procession was led by Dr Harish Desai, I/C Registrar, CHARUSAT joined by Honourable Chief Guest, Provost, President, Members of the Governing Body, Board of Management of CHARUSAT, invited dignitaries, Deans of various Faculties, Gold Medallists.

Addressing the congregation, Dr B G Patel, Provost, CHARUSAT welcomed the guests and gave a brief history of the journey and achievements of CHARUSAT.

Addressing the degree holders Surendrabhai Patel in his presidential address shared three Mantras of success with graduating students. He advised them to decide a goal and follow it with determination, build a sound character, and be a life-long learner. He advised them to work for the society and added that societal contribution yields pure and eternal joy.

Amongst the presence of esteemed dignitaries 164 students of Faculty of Medical Sciences, 333 students of Faculty of Computer Sciences, 156 students of Faculty of Management Studies, 101 students of Faculty of Pharmacy, 193 students of Faculty of Applied Sciences and 994 students of Faculty of Technology and Engineering conferred degrees and blessed for a bright future.

35 students were awarded goldmedals for their outstanding academic performance. It is noteworthy here that all the Medals are real Gold Medals conferred with certificates. Students and their Parents are all provided with hospitality and special attention.
