Central Goods and Service Tax (GST) department, Vadodara has celebrated GST Day by planting 5000 ‘GST TREES’. Ashok Kumar Mehta, Chief Commissioner, CGST & Central Excise Vadodara Zone started the plantation drive by planting GST TREE to mark the 4‘“ anniversary of GST along with officers in office premises of Central GST, Vadodara.

Dr. Satish Dhawale, Commissioner CGST, Vadodara infomed that 5000 ‘GST TREES’ will be planted in coming week in and around office premises and Central Revenue Colony, Vadodara by officers and staff of CGST and members of Central Revenue Colony Welfare Association (CRCRWA). The plantation drive has dual purpose of meeting awareness about environment conservation and indirect taxes, GST and CUSTOMS manned by Central Board of Indirect Taxes (CBIC).

The Chief Commissioner also innaugerated KARDATA SUVIDHA KENDRA (Taxpayer’s Lounge) on this occasion in the presence of officers of Central GST Vadaodara. This facility will help the trade to resolve their grievances and seek further guidance in return filing. It will also be a great step in the direction of trade facilitation.

The Chief Commissioner also addressed the officers of CGST Vadodara Zone through virtual mode on this occasion. Commendation certificates were also given to the Outstanding GST officers and the Corona Warriors who have contributed for containment of COVlD-l9 on this day. Proper social distancing and due precautions were taken during all the activities to mark the celebration of the GST Day.
