Protested by pouring milk outside Baroda dairy gate, threaten to go on hunger strike

The cattle keepers of Bhavpura Bujeta village in Dabhoi taluka have been outraged by the non-payment of milk for the last 60 days by Baroda Dairy and the abrupt closure of the Milk Producers Association.

On Thursday they reached Baroda Dairy with canes full of milk and protested by pouring milk outside the gate. They threaten to go on hunger strike if their demands is not accepted.

As per available details Baroda Dairy, a leading co-operative sector in Vadodara district, had infuriated the members of the Milk Producers Association of Bhavpura Bujeta village in Dabhoi taluka for not paying milk payment for the last 60 days.

On Thursday the milk producers arrived at the gate of Baroda dairy after the association was shut down instantly. They arrived with cans full of milk and emptied them outside the gate of Baroda Dairy to express their anger against the dairy administration.

Along with that, the milk producer members demanded payment for the milk that has not been paid for the last 60 days and staged demonstrations and chanted slogans against the dairy administrators.

The milk producer members alleged that the milk mandali of their village has been closed and another village five kilometers away has been asked to deliver the milk. They protest the decision and demand to continue their mandli and also the payment of milk delayed for the last 60 days.

They also threaten to fast till death near the gate of Baroda Dairy if their demands are not met and all the responsibility will be of the administrators of Baroda Dairy.

People passed from the area surprised to see the protestors poured milk outside the Baroda Dairy gate. The people of Bhavpura Bujeta village said that milk was the only source of livelihood during the Corona period and with sudden closure of their village milk society by Baroda Dairy without any notice has caused huge financial loss to them. At the same time the condition of the people who are making a living by selling milk has become dire after non payment of money for the last 60 days.
