Cattle keeper asked to cooperate as Cows and buffaloes will be covered in the campaign

To create awareness among the cattle breeders of Vadodara district, during November-December 2020, under the NADCP program, a campaign has been started to apply ear tags and ear bands to all cattle and buffaloes.

The Government of India has set a target of eradicating Kharwa-Mowasa and Brucellosis in cattle by the year 2025. As part of this, it is planned to affix barcoded ear tags to all cattle and buffaloes as per the instructions. In Vadodara district, during November-December 2020, ear tags will be applied to a total of 4 lakh 50 thousand animals.

These ear tags will be entered into the INAPH software to confirm the date on which the animals have been vaccinated and dewormed. This tag will be useful in identifying animals in future floods, natural calamities, etc. to take appropriate action in time and pay government assistance. Accordingly, a request has been made by the District Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Prakash R. Darji, to cattle keepers for assistance in affixing ear tags to their animals.
