Sensex, Nifty trade higher amid volatility; IT, energy stocks gain

Indian indices witnessed a weak start on Thursday before turning flat in choppy early trade as investors moved away from riskier assets due to concerns over high inflation and the risk of recession.

In Asia, indices opened weak tracking losses on Wall Street. Shares declined in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, and Shanghai.
