Record 72.42 lakh ITRs filed on July 31 deadline

Over five crore 83 lakh Income Tax Returns (ITRs) have been filed till 31st of July, the last day.

The Revenue Department said that a record of over 72 lakh 42 thousand ITRs were filed on a single day on Sunday.

The Department expressed gratitude to taxpayers and tax professionals for making compliances in time leading to a surge in filing of ITRs resulting in a new record.
