Bike rider tresspassed the closed gate knocked down by speeding train in Vadodara division

Inspite of various campaigns run by the railway department to take safety measures while waiting and railway level crossing, people often put their lives in danger by not following the warning.

One such incident came to light in Vadodara where a bike rider tresspassed the closed gate and knocked down by a speeding express train.

As per details the incident happened at block section between Bajwa and Ranoli. One tresspasser entered from the side adjacent to tracks of closed boom of LC Gate No. 241 of BRC – GER section. To everyone’s shock he continued to drive his bike across the track and knocked down by a speeding train no. 02933 at 19.45 hrs on 21.6.2020.

The cctv on the side of Karachiya gate showed the rider entered inside from adjacent side of the track, continue to drive and first cross the slow approaching goods train and before he understand anything was knocked down by the speeding express train.

“Its a sheer case of negligence and disobeyed the rules to be followed at level crossings. An enquiry is to be conducted in the matter. Secondly a special safety drive was started from 24th June to prevent trespassing at manned LC gates.

As per the order LC gates to be inspected by nominated officers and surprise check conducted by concerned BO’s during the drive period continued till 03-07-2020,” said Khemraj Meena PRO Vadodara division.
