Rescue teams have been deployed in some districts in Bihar where a flood-like situation has emerged. The National Disaster Response Force said 18 of its teams have been deployed in the state.

More than 80 people have died in the last four days in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh where several parts received above-average rainfall this week. A red alert likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall has been sounded by the weather office in most districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh and several parts of Bihar, including Patna. Heavy downpour in the last three days has flooded many parts in Patna, disrupting rail and road traffic.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a review meet, via video conferencing. Heavy rain has also been reported in Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh which led to several deaths.
