An application was submitted to the District Collector by the Awareness Group of Bhayali village in Vadodara. They demand to cancel the allotment of houses to minority community there and first preference be given to the locals.

EWS 2 scheme is built under Pradhanmantri Gruh Awas Yojna in the outgrowing area of Bhayli near Vadodara city. However the local people are angry over allocating the houses to the minority community. They said the allotment of houses is being done unfairly as far as the villagers are concerned and the residents of the entire Bhayali village formed a awareness group to push forward their demands.

They reached the collector office on Thursday and gives a memorandum regarding their demands. They said, the area is of Hindu majority and the allotment of houses to minority community can lead to unrest and hurting the religious sentiments. They demand to move them to other areas and also the first preference shall be given to the locals in the housing scheme.
