District Collector handed over letter of approval to parents of the newborn daughter for inclusion in the Vhali Dikari scheme

Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Week is currently being celebrated and as part of this, Vadodara District Collector Shalini Agarwal congratulated the parents of the newborn daughter quoting as Lakshmi Swaroop and gave a letter of approval for inclusion of the girl child in the state government’s Vhali Dikari scheme. District Development Officer Kiran Zaveri was specially present on the occasion.

Along with the approval letter, the beneficiary parents were also given a daughter greeting kit. The kit includes a small mattress for a newborn baby, two pairs of garments, Himalayan child care products, toys and diapers for the baby and some useful items for the mother.

Informing that the Valli Dikari Yojana has been implemented by the state government for the purpose of enhancing the birth of the girl child in the family and society and providing financial security to the future of the girl child. Women and Child Development Officer Madhavi Ben said that her office has so far provided benefit to parents of 1148 new born babies.
