In a shocking incident, a miscreant poured acid on a lady bus conductor in Bagalagunte police limits on Thursday. The victim, identified as Indira Bai (35), a resident of Havanoor extension, suffered injuries on her face, neck, chest, and shoulder.

She has been shifted to the Saptagiri Hospital. DCP North Shashi Kumar said so far there were no clues about the miscreants and their intention behind carrying out the acid attack is also not known.

The victim’s statement is yet to be recorded.  “We will investigate the matter and arrest the culprit as soon as possible,” he added. The victim, Indira Bai, was walking towards a bus stop from her house when the miscreant had waylaid her and thrown acid on her. Immediately after the attack, he disappeared.

Indira Bai’s husband said there was an attempt on the victim’s life sometime back when her relatives had tried to kill her in a car accident. However, he had not lodged a police complaint in connection with the incident. Police is investigating
