BEACH CLEANSHIP DRIVE BY INS KARUVA AT OKHA TO COMMEMORATE KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS

INS Karuva organised a Beach Cleanship Drive at Okha Beach to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas as mark of respect to the Heroes of the Kargil War. As part of Kargil Vijay Diwas, various activities are being organised at units under Gujarat Naval Area.

The officers and men of INS Karuva undertook an extensive cleaning of the Okha beach resulting in the removal of various types of waste materials. Team Karuva cleared a large quantity of non biodegradable waste from the beach as well.

The drive was also intended to inculcate amongst the local populace the necessity of keeping the beaches clean and safeguarding our marine and coastal environment.
