    Played on the basis of League cum knock-out

    After a gap of around five years the newly elected office Bearers and the Apex Council, has decided to restart “Maharani Shantadevi Inter School Tournament” to tap the young talent. The tournament shall be played on the basis of League cum knock-out where league phase shall be of 40 overs and knock-out phase matches shall be played of 50 overs each side. The Tournament shall start from 11th of February 2020.

    Total 16 teams are participating divided in 4 groups. Each winning team shall get 2 points and in case of tie match than both the teams shall be awarded 1 point each. Top 2 Teams of each group, on the basis of the point table shall enter into knockout stage.

    The knockout matches shall consist of quarter finals, semifinals and the finals. Top 8 Teams shall compete for quarter finals, and the 4 winners shall clash for the semifinals and the top two teams shall play the finals. Total 31 matches to be played, 24 league matches, 4 Quarter final. 2 Semifinal matches and the Final match.

    In the knockout stage in case of tie or play not possible than the Team with better NRR in the previous matches will advance into next stage. However, in the finals if there is a tie or no play both teams shall be declared joint winners.

    All matches will be played on the one day rules, but no restrictions on fielding, numbers of overs per bowler and there will be no power play. All Matches to be played strictly in white clothing and with Red ball.

    The new elected team aims to organize more cricket matches for budding young cricketers and this tournament will be played on 6 Grounds namely, PTC, Alembic -2, MPCG-1, Railways, SGSA, and VCA-2.

    BCA is also planning to hold District level tournaments, on District Cricket grounds between the teams of Dabhoi, Motafofalia, Navsari, Bilimora, Patan and Mehsana Districts in the coming months.

    Baroda Cricket Association will be presenting the participating teams, T Shirts (White) to Teams participating, Awards of “Man of the Match” Trophy for League and Knock Out stages, Award of Man of the Series A Trophy & English Willow Bat, Award of Best Batsman of the Series A Trophy & English Willow Bat,
    Award of Best Bowler of the Series A Trophy & pair of Bowlers Shoes, Winner & Runner Up Team Cricket Kit for School & Medals to Players and All Expenses for the conduct of this tournament will be borne by Baroda CA.
