Baroda Cricket Association host its very first match at International Cricket Stadium Ground at Kotambi on Saturday. The first scheduled match is between Motibaug Cricket Club and Akota Cricket Club as part of Kiran More T-20 Premier league.
After lots of effort finally the association has its own ground to host local as well as international matches in future. Situated in Kotambi 21 kilometers away from Vadodara city the ground is under prepration as per international standards and will be ready with full capacity in next few years. As ground is ready the association has now go ahead with local tournaments and later will host international matches.
Talking about some of the important facilities, the ground will have 25 different wickets like all across the country to give players a practice of the particular turf before any outside tour, most modern stadium with 30,000 capacity which can be increased later, club house, players room and many others. The association is eyeing to complete the facility till the end of 2022 and targeting to bring 2023 world cup match here.
Former Indian cricketer Kiran More also praise the effort and said now the players have their own ground to practice and play and in future international matches will be played at the new ground.
