Assam: 8 people killed in road accident

At least
eight persons were killed in a road accident in the Udalguri district of Assam
in the early hours of Wednesday. The incident took place at Orang Gelabil area,
where an Ertiga car hit a stationary truck from the back on National Highway
15.

The deceased
persons were returning from a wedding party in an Ertiga car. All the
passengers of the car died on the spot.

Six among
the deceased persons were identified as Diganta Saikia, Partha Kuri, Narayan
Das, Rinku Saikia, Ranjit Deka, Parima Kuri.

Assam Chief
Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has offered condolences over the tragic incident.
